The General Organization for Social Insurance warned that they will deprive private schools from certification if they don’t raise teachers’ salaries to at least SR 5,000.
The GOSI said in a statement that it is insisting on applying the royal decree to set the minimum salary for teachers in private schools to SR 5,000.
GOSI Governor Abul Aziz Al-Habdan said that SR 5,000 is now the subscription fee to the social insurance according to the new regulation. He said that employers reserve the right to file a complaint against the decision at GOSI.
Al-Habdan urged the schools owners to change the salaries registered in the social insurance to the minimum amount.
“Schools that fail to comply will be subject to legal consequences and will be deprived from the GOSI certifications and other services,” he said.
He said hat there is cooperation between the social insurance and the human resources fund in this regard.
Al-Habdan did also urge Saudis and non-Saudi teachers to make sure that their employers correct their salary situations.
He added that a private sector employee is entitled to a non-occupational disability pension if he or she is having a period of contribution in GOSI reaching 12 consecutive months, and has suffered from a non-occupational disability while in employment.
